Detroit Water Department Hires General Counsel

As part of its move toward independence from the City of Detroit, the Detroit Water and Sewerage Department has hired William Wolfson to serve as General Counsel.  DWSD previously relied on attorneys from the City's Law Department, notably Robert Walter  and Laurie Koester.

Mr. Wolfson previously served as Interim Corporation Counsel and Assistant Deputy CEO for Wayne County before retiring at 50 in 2009.  Most recently, Mr. Wolfson maintained a private law practice in Detroit. Click here for his LinkedIn profile.

Mr. Wolfson will be paid $132,500 per year by DWSD.  Mr. Wolfson will also receive a $118,000 a year pension from Wayne County.
